Sometimes all of us need some peace & tranquility in our lives and "Monte Horizonte" is the perfect place for both, made attainable by the efforts of Marianne & Bert.
The warmth of the Alentejo is matched by the hospitality of our hosts and we hope to visit again sometime soon.
Thanks to Bert for his advice of taking us to the lagoon at St. Andre for the birdwatching.

We love what you have done with the establishment, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mimosa.
Our favorite parts were the beautiful interior and the outdoor grill.
We appreciated the very warm welcome we received from yourselves as well as Beth and Bob.

Marianne und Bert, zwei sympathische Hollaender und haben ein sehr mutiges Projekt gestartet. Ein kleines Bungalowdorf auf ein praechtig gelegen Quinta in Portugal. Wer Ruhe und Privacy moechte ist hier gut bedient. Auf eine halbe Stunde Abstand wunderschoene Straende am Atlantik und auf einige Kilometer Entfernung das gemuetliche Staedtchen Santiago, wo man alles fuer ein angenehmen Urlaub bekommt. Der blitz-blank saubere Bungalow ist funktionell eingerichtet. Die paar andere Ferienhaeuser liegen weit genug weg, so das man auf jeden fall seine Ruhe hat. Weil doch ziemlich weit weg vom allem ist ein Fahrzeug notwendig. Für MTB-Begeisterten ist Monte Horizonte absolut ideal. Auch Offroader werden auf ihren Kosten kommen. Wenn Sie wandern gehen sollte ein GPS oder mindestens ein Kompass dabei sein. Wir haben uns hier wohl gefuehlt. Marianne und Bert sind gerade mit ihrem Projekt begonnen und wir wuenschen denen viel Erfolg.

Liebe Marianne, Bert und Eline,
Wir haben eine wunderschone zeit bei Euch. Ihr habt Euch ein einmaliges Fleckchen Erde ausgesucht und so gestaltet, dass man einen herrlichen Urlaub haben MUSS.
Das Haus ist zum wohlfuhlen und hat alles, was man braucht.
Das Ort ist perfect als Startpunkt fur tagliche Ausfluge in alle Richtungen und am abends die Tage entspannt auf der Terrasse zu lassen.
Aber ihr macht es erst perfect, helft mit Rat und Tat, wenn man hilfe braucht oder gebt ein wenig von Eurer Geschichte preis.

Our first visit to Portugal was absolutely wonderful.
Thankyou all for your warm welcome, friendship and hospitality (where did you hide the sunshine?)
The cuckoo and the nightengale, and the toads were very nice and noisy.
The most beautiful beaches nearby, and high tide at the lagoon was magical.
We have plenty of very happy memories. You have been great.
This place is so peaceful, so tasteful.
